To make the most of spiritual direction sessions the following suggestions are recommended:
Think of the session as a sacred time to meet with God (that will be your directors desire also). So it’s advisable tofind a quiet, comfortable undisturbed place to meet, and eliminate distractions. The ability to give your full attention to the session will play a significant role in what you get out of it. e.g. turn off device notifications, let others know you are in a meeting; and if meeting online please avoid multi-tasking. It’s also advisable to be intentional with arriving to a session feeling unhurried. Perhaps have some ‘margin’ before and after session.

Preceding the session consider reviewing your journal or reflecting on recent weeks as a springboard to the conversation. Or, perhaps consider a couple of the following reflection points:
